Macy's is Recognized for its Diversity Leadership

Macy's, Inc. continually strives to integrate diversity and inclusion into all areas of our business, and we are honored by the recognition we have received from both national and local organizations for our longstanding commitment and progress on diversity.

Macy's has again been recognized by the National Association for Female Executives (NAFE) on its list of the Top 50 Companies for women executives, for the 10th year, for our record and representation of women serving on Macy's Board of Directors, in management roles, and in our overall workforce. Patti Ongman, EVP/GMM, Centercore Jewelry/Handbags/Accessories, accepted the award on behalf of Macy's, at the awards luncheon in March.

Macy's scored 100 on the Human Rights Campaign's Corporate Equality Index (CEI) and been recognized as a 2011 Best Places to Work for LGBT Equality, for our policies and support of LGBT employees. Macy's was among 337 companies who scored 100 on the HRC CEI, and was recognized at the HRC's 7th Annual Workplace Equality Awards. Macy's was represented by Corliss Fong, VP, Diversity Strategies and Tannya Plaza, Traffic Coordinator, Marketing, and co-leader of the Macy's Pride Network Employee Resource Group.

Macy's has been ranked #9 on the 2010 Hispanic Business Top 60 Diversity Elite for our commitment to Hispanic hiring, promotion, marketing, philanthropy and supplier diversity.

Latina Style Logo - Macy's was ranked #7 on Latina Style Magazine's 2010 List of the Top 50 Companies for Latinas. Dineen Garcia, VP, Diversity Strategies, accepted the award in February, at the Awards Luncheon in Washington, DC.

Macy's, Inc. was named an "Employer of Choice" by the Minority Corporate Counsel Association for "distinguished diversity efforts."

DiversityInc recognized Macy's as one of the Top 25 Noteworthy Companies for Diversity in 2011.


2011 Champions of Diversity Award
- New York City

Macy's was selected to receive the 2011 Champions of Diversity Award by the New York Urban League for excelling in the area of diversity through its practice and top-down commitment to diversity through hiring, promotion, supplier relations and philanthropic activities. The award was presented in February at the NYUL's 8th Annual Champions of Diversity Awards, to Ed Goldberg, VP, External Affairs, who also serves on the Board of Directors of the NY Urban League.


2010 Corporation of the Year Award - Cincinnati

Macy's was awarded the 2010 Corporation of the Year Award by the Greater Cincinnati Northern Kentucky African American Chamber of Commerce (GCNKAACC). The award was accepted by Howard Thompson, VP, Purchasing and Vendor Development.

In 2010, Macy's was awarded the Trevor Project Commitment Award for its policies and practices in support of the LGBT employees and consumers.
